I can open every email that I receive, but when I try to go further and click such as "Click here" within the email it does not respond.

You have to reset Internet Explorer to the default settings. To do this, go to Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Tools > Advanced > Reset. Restart Internet Explorer and Windows Live Mail as well and the links should be clickable again. If you have another browser, set it as default again and it should also work.
After uninstalling "Search Protect" Software Informer erroneously says "Windows Live" uninstalled instead of "Search Protect" uninstalled!
Has anyone else experienced this behavior?

This could be a simple misunderstanding between the registry entries. It happened although the application was removed correctly. It's just a simple bug, I guess. Open the client and check if Windows Live is still there. In case the application was uninstalled as well, contact the developers directly regarding the client's problems using the available page. You can paste the link to this question as well.

There is no need to upgrade since Windows 7 is still updated and supported. Windows 8 features some new elements but if the OS is running normally, there is no need for an upgrade unless you really need it. In case you plan to update, make sure to install a 64bit version of the OS then download the drivers from its official website.
If the application refuses to uninstall, it means that the uninstaller is corrupted and you need to force remove the application using a 3rd party tool created for this type of business. Try using Revo Uninstaller. Even if it can't uninstall the application normally, it will force it to uninstall by wiping out all traces of its presence from the system.

Exit out of Live Messenger .... duh... if you are logged on and you dont want it to go go to options and change it that way

Can I delete the Windows Live software from my PC's programs list without causing problems?
You you can uninstall it without problems.
Try updating the application to its latest versio. You can download the application from the Microsoft website.
